At Orleans Primary, we are proud to offer a warm, welcoming environment where every child can thrive. As a “village school in the heart of the city,” we combine a close knit, supportive community with outstanding facilities and extensive open spaces. Our early years provision is rated Outstanding by OFSTED, with children developing strong social and emotional skills, curiosity, and kindness from the very start of their learning journey. Across the school, pupils feel safe, happy, and motivated, enjoying a broad and enriched curriculum that brings learning to life through trips, clubs, music and hands on activities such as tending the school allotment.
Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our 2025 Key Stage 2 results. Orleans pupils continue to achieve above national averages in all areas, with 90% reaching the expected standard in reading and maths and impressive higher-standard attainment, including 66% achieving high-standard reading and 50% in grammar, punctuation, and spelling. OFSTED highlighted the school’s high expectations, the imaginative teaching and the emphasis on reading and critical thinking as key strengths. Pupils are encouraged to persevere, view challenges as learning opportunities and develop resilience and independence, qualities that prepare them for secondary school and beyond.
At Orleans, we live by our motto: “A love of learning for life, for all.” Personal development is central to our ethos, with pupils gaining valuable life experiences through a rich range of enrichment activities, residential visits and leadership opportunities. Our inclusive approach ensures that all pupils, including those with SEND, are supported to achieve their potential. Families consistently praise the sense of community, the nurturing staff and the respect and courtesy fostered amongst children. Together, we celebrate achievement, curiosity and kindness, building confident learners who are ready to make a positive impact on the world.
