Supporting Bereavement in Our School Community
Bereavement is a deeply personal and often overwhelming experience, and it can affect children, families, and staff in many different ways. Whether following the death of a child, a family member, or another significant person, grief has no set timeline and no “right” way to be felt or expressed.
As a school community, we are committed to providing care, understanding, and support during times of loss. We recognise that children and young people may experience grief differently from adults, and that families may need support at various stages of their bereavement journey. This page brings together information, guidance, and resources to help support emotional wellbeing, offer reassurance, and signpost further help when it is needed.
The resources listed are intended to support:
-
Children and young people experiencing bereavement
-
Parents, carers, and families supporting a grieving child
-
Families and individuals coping with loss at any stage
-
Those affected by the death of a child, as well as other forms of bereavement
We encourage families to reach out if they need support. You are not alone, and help is available.
