Year 2 to St Pauls

Last week, Year 2 took a trip to St Paul's Cathedral to bring to life their History topic of The Great Fire of London.

Last week, Year 2 took a trip to St Paul's Cathedral to bring to life their History topic of The Great Fire of London.

After soaking up the amazing atmosphere of the building we set about our workshops exploring artifacts from 1666 and learning more about the talented architect, Sir Christopher Wren. After a steady climb up the 259 steps to the Whispering Gallery we tested out the famous acoustic properties of the enormous dome! Can you imagine, it actually works, you can still hear Mrs Prinsloo when she's over 112 feet away!

The staff at St Paul's were hugely complimentary about the behaviour, enthusiasm and knowledge of all the children and said 'they were a total credit to our school and staff'. Thank you to our amazing parent helpers for this trip also, without you these trips would be impossible.

Many thanks, Wildcats and Puffins
